The Europan Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will be effective starting the 1st of January 2024. The directive will impact many companies originating or generating revenue in the European Union including their supply chain in countries such as Vietnam. These companies will have to start preparations to comply with these reporting standards in 2023.

Recently, the European Commission has announced it will deploy new legislation on Environmental, Social and Governance reporting. Any business that wants to export products to the European Union, has to take environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into account to ensure the climate goals of Europe and Vietnam are met. Ultimately, comprehensive reports will need to be made to ensure that the whole supply chain of all products imported to Europe, is using sustainable, fair practices. 

This new planned legislation will come with challenges for Vietnamese companies. What is ESG? What is the new legislation for exporters about? How do I report so that I comply with this legislation? These may be questions that pop in your mind. 

On Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 November, The Netherlands Embassy and Consulate General, Royal HaskoningDHV, ASSIST and DBAV will organise ESG Reporting Workshops, at the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition 2022. 

These workshops are meant for the (potential) suppliers of Dutch and other European multinational companies in Vietnam, and for all relations of DBAV, ASSIST and The Netherlands Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam. The workshops are free to enter.

15 mins: Cases from 3 companies in Vietnam who are already doing ESG reporting

10 mins: Q&A

20 mins: Short networking event
