Stichting Beheer MKB fondsen, in partnership with Holland House Colombia and the Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St. Eustatius & Saba and St. Maarten, is organizing a business mission to Colombia with the objective to concretely match companies from the Dutch Caribbean and Colombia, but also to foster closer relationships between existing contacts and networks.

After highly successful visits in the years before the pandemic and a virtual continuation of contacts during it, many entrepreneurs from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have taken valuable steps to enter the Colombian market. With missions possible again after the pandemic, this year`s trade mission will have a special focus on the Export of Services in sectors such as tourism, ICT, financial, BPO, digital marketing amongst others.

The trade mission will be headed by the President of the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Willem Jonckheer. The highlight events of the mission will be:

• Tour of Holland House Colombia
• B2B Individual on-site match-making programme between Dutch Caribbean companies and Colombia, on November 15-16 in Bogotá, and on November 17 in Medellín (depending on your sector and interest).
• To be determined social networking event(s).

Current situation in Colombia:

Colombia is one of the main global emerging markets, which has recovered from the pandemic strongly with 10.6% GDP growth in 2021. Colombia is currently the 3rd biggest economy in Latin America. The Colombian market itself has more than 50 million consumers and the middle class is growing rapidly. An international business climate is created to attract foreign investors. The internal situation strongly improved and the peace-agreement has been signed.

The following sectors are especially attractive for companies from the Caribbean: IT, medicine & medicinal instruments, food & non-food products, media, training & education, legal sector, real estate, oil & gas, hospitality supplies, personal care products, among others. In addition, the geographical location is a great advantage for improving the relationships and creating more business.

Registration and fees:

The costs for this mission are 950 EUR. If desired, interested companies may apply for the SIB subsidy of RVO, which would cover 50% of the participation fee.
